Hi, I'm Dr. Carin La Count
I have a vision that drives my heart with an intensity that is as exciting as it is challenging. That vision is to uplevel the consciousness of humanity one self-loving soul at a time, and I hope you’re here to join me!
I intend to fulfill this vision by following my life’s mission to work with conscientious old-souls. I believe that old souls who feel deep in their hearts that there is a purpose for which they are here in this life are the key to humanity’s salvation. It is the work that they do, or are drawn to do, that is inspired by the unconditional love of their soul. Â
Being an old soul myself, I am intimately familiar with the challenges we face. We have a deep sense of empathy that rules our lives and if we don’t balance it with the depth of self-love necessary to not get caught up in codependent patterns, we will stumble and fall. Utilizing self-love will give us the faith we need to get on the right track with our life’s purpose, find the courage to follow it, and the strength to execute it.Â
Humanity needs us to love ourselves unconditionally with the same passion we put into helping others so that we can make the difference we are here to make.Â
I believe this is the ultimate “win-win” because with self-love we will not only heal ourselves, we will help to heal others through the purpose-aligned work we do.
How Does Self-Love Work?
We are each here with a specific purpose assigned to us for our lifetime. Our finding and following that purpose is the goal in loving one’s self. Each of us have a variety of missions, powers, talents, challenges and fears that make up our individuality for the express purpose of accomplishing what our soul came here to do. Loving oneself means understanding who we are at our core, accepting our unique traits given to us in this life, and managing our thoughts and behaviors to maintain a positive momentum in crafting the life we desire.Â
It is this heart-centered life we lead that is not only in service to others, but also to ourselves.Â

If you feel called to work with me, I will teach you about the various soul types. For instance, one of mine is a spiritual soul type. As a spiritual soul, I’ve studied spirituality from a young age in an attempt to understand the sudden death of my mother when I was a child and the impact that had on my life. In the course of my studies, I found myself in an abusive marriage (classic for an old soul, spiritualist) while I worked to understand the role I played in being in that relationship.Â
That experience inspired my self-love journey that started with my getting a coaching certification in 2015 with the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. However, once I learned of my ex-husband’s infidelities after our divorce and my battle with an auto-immune condition resumed, depression consumed me and I gave up coaching almost as quickly as I started. I found myself in a battle for my life as I realized how I had not let go of the dysfunction that got me into an abusive marriage and my lack of self-love was literally threatening my life.Â
I had to figure out why my life had come to that point, how to survive it, and ultimately how to thrive. The answer for me was to write my book, The Love Liar: A Memoir of Codependency, Narcissism and the Pursuit of Self-Love.Â
The process of writing and publishing that very heartfelt and transparent story deepened my self-love journey. That experience opened my eyes to a whole new level of self-love practices that I now feel called to teach to others.

How Is My Approach to Self-Love Different?
I have always been a deep thinker. I was six years old when my mother died, and when I was standing with my father next to her casket, I asked him, “How do I pray?” I wanted to understand because I had already begun formulating an idea in my head that I had done something to deserve her desertion and I thought prayer might give me an opportunity to right my wrongs and give me answers. However, my father was fundamentally unable to address my question, or attend to my emotional needs altogether.
I was on my own, spiritually and emotionally, and from then on I’d developed an ever-increasing desire for answers about who we are, why we are here and why we suffer. It is the answers to these questions that I have found through a variety of spiritual leaders and philosophies that has informed the work I do today.Â
I am deeply sensitive to our individual journeys and beliefs. From the place of unconditional love for all humans, I have developed a unique appreciation for the differing viewpoints on self-love and spirituality. This has guided my approach to teaching others who we are at our core while keeping a broad view of other’s viewpoints in order to find the common threads in our varied beliefs. This helps to keep us on track with our lofty goals rather than getting caught up in semantics and differing religious ideals.Â
I feel strongly that this is important in aligning with the ultimate truth of who we are in the eyes of our creator in order to love ourselves and others unconditionally. This is the most effective way for old souls—who typically have a life-purpose aimed at upleveling humanity (as opposed to younger souls whose life purpose is more aimed at getting them to the next soul level)—to find a way of being that will most effectively honor their purpose for being in this life.  Â
My work draws in older souls whose compassion and altruism shape who they are and drives their extraordinary desire to make a difference in the world. These beautiful souls, however, are challenged with the burden of this compassion and altruism in a world of younger souls who would judge, ridicule, and interfere with their life’s purpose out of fear, often pushing them off their life’s plan altogether.Â
This is a problem for all of humanity that I aim to counter from a place of unconditional love for all humans.
Will you join me in my crusade to uplevel consciousness through loving yourself whole?Â
